Hi there. Does anyone have any clever uses for the API? I have placed mine on my fetlife profile - which I guess could be dangerous but no one ever seems to use it (except me, when I'm feeling like a risk taker).
Just curious. It would be great if it could be connected to a fitness tracker or scale or something.

I don't know about very clever uses for API, but I have played around with it a bit

I'm not sure if it's clever, but I've had to post mine in my profile for anyone who wants to play with it. No one ever seems to though.

I'd check your requirement votes if I were you

I saw that. Was wondering who that was. Thanks for playing!

I made a Powershell bot that announced random things from random sites - one of the announcements was a reminder that I was in an Emlalock session. I'm planning on expanding it into a Slack bot, and giving it an Emlalock account to be my automated keyholder.
A lot of my plans are things that a keyholder would do. A lot of others are along the lines of Emlalock suggestion box, so some of these may happen in Emlalock V2.
- Set "windows of release" - if you don't get free by 9pm on your last day, it could auto-extend your session by another day.
- As a bot on your local network, it can track your phone on wifi, leading to basic punishments for being late to work etc.
- Can involve other APIs - watch your Github commits and make sure you're making at least a commit an hour. Watch your Reddit and Tumblr accounts and make sure you're not wasting time posting there. There are a LOT of sites where something like this would work.
- Interact with others in chat, and answer questions about your session. Maybe even tell others how long you have left, but not tell you.
- Randomized teasing and reminders.
- Give you more games to play for good behavior.
For those who put their API key in thier profile, I've been tempted to extend their session. ;)

This sounds amazing and fun. Built-in keyholder when you need one and you'd never get away with anything.
I"ll have to remember to keep my API info away from you...

It could be used to make an accountability page. It could be where the holder or wearer can configure a list of offenses and the punishments for them. Then there would be a page where just the buttons for each offence were there. The link could then be shared by keyholder or wearer with friends and family asking them to help with accountability. The pages could even be entirely vanilla so they could be shared with anyone and it would really help increase accountability for many wearers like myself.
