Privacy is another issue I’m considering in Will Vs Trust. I understand that a will may become part of the public probate record when it is submitted to court, depending on local law and circumstances. A properly structured trust can generally allow trust assets to be administered privately outside probate. This could be important for families who don't want details about their assets or beneficiaries easily accessible through court records. I’d like to know whether privacy was an important factor for anyone who chose a trust. How much weight should families give to privacy when planning an estate?
