Had the same problem.  I angled the front holder of the shaft holder a little bit down from the one in the back and the shaft cleared the bands.  A little clearance is all that is needed.

Another suggestion, is to take it where you got it and have them help you.  My shop in St. Pete helped out and they didnt charge me for advice or support.  Also they said you could mount it on either side, or if youre really an optimistic shooter, you can mount one on each side.
